Activation of Garmin inReach devices requires a satellite subscription to access full functionality. Our service provides two-way satellite communication using the Iridium low orbit satellite network, ensuring reliable coverage worldwide. Subscription plans include:

• Connection Charge: A one-time subscription activation fee applies.
• Freedom Plans: Flexible monthly plans with a minimum term of 30 days. Enjoy the option to suspend service monthly at no extra charge.
• Annual/Contract Plans: Yearly plans with a minimum term of 12 months. Upgrade options available with payment flexibility.

Pricing and Subscription Details

Please note that all prices are subject to change. Garmin® inReach devices necessitate satellite subscription activation to access the Iridium® satellite network for live tracking and messaging functions, including SOS.

All subscription plans are billed on a monthly basis and are tailored for individual consumers exclusively. Plans encompass applicable GST. Additional charges will be incurred for text messages, tracking points, and location pings that exceed the limits set by the chosen plan. For Service Plans offering unlimited texting or tracking, transmission speeds may decrease after prolonged heavy usage, while SOS message transmission speed remains unaffected. Additionally, all annual plans are subject to a $29 AUD activation fee. There is no charge for transitioning to a more inclusive annual plan, but a $37 AUD fee applies to downgrading to a less inclusive annual plan.

Enrollment in Freedom plans incurs a $37 AUD annual fee. These plans require a minimum term of 30 days, and any changes made to Freedom plans will be subject to the new 30-day minimum. There are no charges for changing a Freedom plan, and service suspension is possible on a monthly basis at no cost. Users retain access to inReach data stored on the Garmin Explore portal during account suspension. Selected plans auto-renew monthly unless users modify their account preferences in the Garmin Explore portal.

Garmin Connect Compatibility

Garmin inReach devices are compatible with Garmin Connect, an online community where users can analyze, categorize, and share data.

InReach Subscription Details

Garmin inReach devices necessitate satellite subscription activation to function properly. The provided service is a two-way satellite communicator service that utilizes the Iridium low orbit satellite network in conjunction with inReach customer equipment (sold separately). Customers can utilize this satellite service to send and receive text messages to a cell phone (SMS) number or email address, as well as SOS messages and location-based (GPS) tracking services.

Comparison of Consumer Subscription Plans

Connection Charge: This is a one-time subscription activation fee.

Minimum Term: Freedom plans require a minimum term of 30 days, while Annual/Contract plans have a minimum term of 1 year with 12 monthly payments.

Freedom Plans: With a minimum term of 30 days, these plans can be suspended on a monthly basis at no charge, and users retain access to inReach data stored on the Explore portal.

Annual/Contract Plans: These plans require a minimum term of 12 months. Upgrading to a higher-tier plan is free (users only pay the difference).
